Therapy Intensives in Berkeley, CA
Deeper work, done thoughtfully:
If you’re ready for focused, meaningful progress, a Therapy Intensive might be the right fit. Intensives are longer sessions—usually 2–3 hours—designed to give you time and space to really settle in, follow the thread of what’s coming up, and complete a full arc of work in one sitting. We’ll move at a steady, comfortable pace, take a short break for fresh air, and return to the second half feeling reset.
Why choose an Intensive?
You get momentum. More time together means fewer starts and stops, so you can stay with what matters and see movement in a single visit.
It fits a full life. Many busy, high-achieving clients prefer a focused block over multiple shorter appointments.
It goes deeper—safely. With time to settle, work, pause, and integrate, you’re less rushed and more supported.
What an Intensive looks like:
Length: 2–3 hours (with a brief mid-session break)
Your time could include:
Arrive & settle. We’ll check in, set a clear intention, and help your body and breath find steadiness.
Focused work. We’ll use the approaches that fit you—this may include gentle eye-focus work (Brainspotting), structured reprocessing (EMDR), listening to your body’s signals (somatic practices), or getting to know your inner parts (IFS-informed).
Integration. We slow down, make meaning, and choose simple after-session care (movement, breath, food, journaling).
Real-life application. We translate insights into daily life—communication, boundaries, and next steps.
Pace & safety: We go at the speed your system can handle. You have choice throughout, and we adjust as we go.
Is an Intensive a good fit for me?
An Intensive may be right for you if you’re:
Self-reflective and ready to work beneath coping skills and into real change.
Looking for efficient, time-bounded care that respects a busy schedule.
Integrating a big shift—a psychedelic journey, spiritual awakening, grief, a major transition, or a new way of relating to yourself and life.
Highly sensitive (HSP) and benefit from unhurried attention.
Wanting a culturally aware, welcoming space to explore identity and belonging at your own pace.
Note: I offer integration therapy only—no provision of substances.
Frequently asked:
How many Intensives will I need?
It depends on your goals. Some people book one 2–3 hour session for a focused issue; others schedule a short series (for example, monthly) to support deeper change.
Do Intensives replace weekly therapy?
They can stand alone or complement weekly sessions. Many clients do both—using Intensives for deeper work and shorter sessions for ongoing support.
Is this appropriate for complex trauma?
Often, yes—with careful preparation. We’ll take time to understand your history and make sure the plan matches what your system can truly integrate. In trauma work, slow is steady and steady is fast.
Insurance & cost
Intensives are private pay. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance (out-of-network benefits vary).
